United Recovery Systems

United Recovery Systems is a collection agency that has been in business since 1977. United Recovery Systems is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and has offices in Tulsa Oklahoma, Monterrey Mexico, Tempe Arizona, and Bryan Texas. United Recovery Systems has over 1000 employees and collects on debt originally owed to credit card companies, retail stores, and deficiency loan industries.

According to its Web site, United Recovery Systems “has maintained consistent growth through the years by providing a high-quality collection service to a select group of clients.” However, according to its track record, United Recovery Systems’s collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The FDCPA has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collects can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.

According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), United Recovery Systems has been sued over 175 times in the last 3 years for debt collection harassment. It does not get any better for United Recovery Systems on the Better Business Bureau, either. First, United Recovery Systems is not accredited with the better Business Bureau. Second, the Better Business Bureau has processed over 150 billing/collection issues, and almost 200 total complaints, regarding United Recovery Systems in the last three years.

I tried too tell him that I could not pay, but I am working with a debt consolidation company. This person refused rd of accept it. That is why it is still not paid. I was left a message from number 866-582-4085. Is this number from this site. My name is Mary Thall. Who ever called left the message with a private club that I am associated with as a member. They are not to contact me at the number 814-683-4450. I’m not ever sure how they got this number. I don’t know what the situation is. Someone has called asking for me at a club where I’m a member leaving the number 866-582-4085 to have me return their call. I come to the club today for a drink & the manager gave me the message. Should I have the club write a letter stating they are not to contact their members? I want to find out what this is concerning. I’m not sure why they have contact this club or how they got their number. I belong to many different clubs. My email is MaryThall@gmail.com!

Called me three times, today, within five minutes. I have no outstanding debts. They refused to give me information without me providing them my personal information, which I refused to do so. I had to finally, at the third call, tell them that I am keeping a log of their excessive and harassing phone calls, and that if they call me one more time I will be contacting an attorney to pursue any viable legal action that I may against them. They then called my boyfriend four times, instead.

  11. Angela Smith

I received a message from this number. Could you please tell me what this is regarding. Once I find out what this is regarding I will contact you. I have no idea why you would be calling. I am unable to call or answer my phone during business hours, therefore once I know what this is regarding I will call back.

  12. daniel saccoccia

United recovery systems keeps sent me letters on the account I have 3 to more collection companys the same letters

    1. Magruss

      Hi Daniel,

More than one collection agency should not be collecting the same debt from you at the same time. If you fax (fax: 312-253-4451) the letters to me, I’ll notify the collection agencies to stop harassing you. I’m familiar with United Recovery Systems, and I’m confident I can put an end to this letter campaign. I’ll call you so we can discuss this further.

      Thanks,

      Mike
