Should I pay a debt that Professional Credit says has a judgment against me? They've already taken part of the debt out of my checking account!
"I had 3 citations in Tigard, OR that basically I had no time to deal with and it got turned over to Professional Credit Servce for collection. they sent me letters and here and there were calling me. they stopped calling me when I have told them to stop. I have decided to clear up the matter and have contacted the court to see if I can settle it for less without dealing with collection agency. I was told no unless pay in full. collection amount and fees are set by the court. which my ballance is $1532.89 with all the fees included and that CA cannot charge interest rate. I have recorded phone calls with CA that I owe them $1,819.53 and should get statement in the mail as well. Do we have a case here to sue them for violating FDCPA?!"
Hello, I am a single parent of two and am on public assistance, receiving food stamps, medical, child care, and most importantly housing assistance in which I can not loose or will be homeless. I found out last week that I was receiving a garnishment and was never served papers and even when I called the collection agency they were confused why it was served to "Heather Corder, yet JOHN DOE received and not releasing of name." They garnished my check for $175 and they were hired from Vancouver Clinic which was from 2012. I am wondering if I could get any pointers on how I will be able to get rid of this garnishment. Ray Klein dba Professional Credit Service received a judgment against me for $2100. I was not notified about the hearing. In addition, I was 18-19, in college and on my dad's insurance and despite repeated attempts to get Aetna to pay my bill (and their acknowledgement it should have been paid), the company never paid. Now they have filed a writ of garnishment for $2100!
Professional Credit Service Bank Garnishment (07-07-2017) I have made two payments to 'Professional Credits Service' for past medical bills. I don't deny that I owe the money and have planned to send them as much money as I can each time they send me a bill alone with payments to the hospital every month when I receive their bill. Today I go to the Bank to with draw some money form the ATM and receive a notice on the screen 'Insufficient Funds', Wow this is a surprise my paycheck was just deposited yesterday. I check the balance and its shows a balance a little over $700.00. I go into the bank and tell them my problem and they respond that my funds have been frozen for Garnishment, and was told that I must have been served. Problem is I was never served and this judgment is a complete surprise to me. I called 'Professional Credit Service' and they told me I was served but the date of service was unavailable. and I had also appeared in court and agreed to a payment plan that I defaulted on. (Complete Lie) I responded that it was complete fiction and I have been making payment, they responded if I would agree to making payments that they would consider removing the Garnishment. I replied I have no issue paying the dept I think the last two payments should prove that. The lady responded she could only find the record of one payment. I asked her to send me all the information on the dept and so I can make some sense out of what is paid and what I owe. The problem is my money is frozen and I have outstanding Checks and have no money till next week. This is tremendous financial burden on me and has caused me a great deal of distress. I understand I owe the money but I also have other financial obligations, this has put my life in turmoil. I need guidance I feel they have abused the legal process to legitimately obtain a judgment against me and stole my money out from under me. well i recieved a letter from pcs stating that my monthly payments are insufficiant and now they are demanding payment in full. i have had multiple medical debts over the years due to health issues. i have paid off all but one of my debts in full t pcs and other creditors. I have also been paying 25 dollar payments to pcs for a few years without missing one and suddenly bam a letter in the mail stating. " thank you for your recent payment , it has been credited to your account. however the payment is sufficient and you must pay the full balance at once. im more concerened about my finances. just that over the past 3 years I have paid all my debts to pcs in full without settlement and also i had to have a pacemaker put in so my finacnces have been stretched very thin. I have even paid some of my debts to them using a credit card trying to just get free from them. The did have a judgment against me at one point that i could not fight due to health issues but i paid that account in full years ago. at the time of the judgment they raped my bank account leaving me in even more debt so i do fear that they will do this again. i called them about a month ago to see if they would settle but they refused unless i provided all kinds of personal information. I received a summons from Professional credit services today alleging that I owe almost $10,000 to Boeing Employees Credit Union. There is no other validation of this debt, just a requirement to respond within 20 days. I do not know what they are alleging I owe. I was chatting with Jessica tonight but we got cut off.
in the middle of december mark my boyfriend got served a court summons from professional credit service. they were trying to take him to court for past due medical bills from vancouver clinic (approx $404). once vancouver clinic sent mark's balance to professional credit service, they tacked on interest which brought it up to approx $686. once mark responded to the court summons we found out that $686 amount had now jumped to appox $1,096 which apparently was for the filing fees, attorney fees, and some other nonsensical fees. Mark worked out an agreement for an initial down payment of $213 due by February 15, 2017 and then $50 every month after that until the $1096 was paid off, not to mention professional credit adds 12% interest per annum. These details were all typed up and put into a "Settlement Agreement and Release" document that was supposed to be signed by mark as well as the professional credit service attorney, Eric Acurario and the VP of legal Services, Christopher Bevans. On Janurary 31, 2017 mark sent that signed agreement document, a check for $213 the initial good faith payment, and with those things a cover letter requesting a signed copy of the agreement with Mr. Bevans' and Mr. Arcuario's signiture for our records and as well as a copy of the court order of dismissal as soon as that $213 check had cleared. The $213 check cleared and posted to my account around February 5th or 6th and our certified receipt with a signiture from a person from prfessional credit came back to us by February 7th. Yesterday, February 13, 2017, Mark called professional credit service to ask when he would recieve that signed copy of the agreement with Mr. Bevans and Mr. Arcurio's signatures because without their signitures that agreement is not a legal contract. He spoke to a lady named Kelly, who told Mark that the $213 check was not in there system which means Mark's balance is still $1,096. This is very fishy because since the check was cashed by Professional Credit Service on February 5, 2017 this means they have our money and all that Kelly could tell Mark was that the accounting department hasn't passed along the payment information. Mark and I have a terribly sick feeling about this situation and the fact that the $213 initial payment was due by February 15, 2017 they could turn around and say mark hasn't paid when they have cashed the $213 check which was the initial payment per that settlement agreement which the professional credit service has not signed yet. Mark also asked if we could get receipts for our payments and an updated balance to keep track of our account with them and was told by kelly that she made notes on our account for those requests and all she said was she would have to give mark a call back once they talk to the accounting department with regard to the $213 check payment that supposedly they don't have in their system yet they have taken the money out of my account. i have read testimonies of other individuals that say this professional credit service does not call people back and they they rip people off constantly and extort monies and are known for shady unlawful business practices. i am reaching out because i'd like to know where we can go from here. we have records of all communication with this credit service copies of all documentation except for the requested signed copy of the contract and the order of dismissal. I have several old debts from 2012 when I was unemployed still listed as active collections on my credit from these people. To my knowledge all of these accounts were paid.
I had several medical bills that ended up in collections and I have had the misfortune of having to deal with this company. I have not ever experienced people being quite this rude and difficult to work with. The harassing phone calls have stopped but only because I agreed to pay them $200.00 a month. I agreed to pay this amount in order to prevent wage garnishment. I really couldn't afford this large of a payment but was told that anything else would not pay off my balance soon enough to be able to make monthly payments. It seems as though my balance does not reflect the payments that I have made and when I asked about this, I was told "well, we do charge interest." I feel like I am getting ripped off but if I cancel the automatic monthly payments they will attach my wages. I feel like I am stuck and I don't know what, if any options I have.
I have medical debt (because I could not afford health insurance) and they continue to harrass me EVERY week sometimes more than once. I have tried to set up a minimal payment plan and when I lost my job, told them I was not able to pay at the time and they STILL continued to harass me.

My husband has outstanding medical bills that apparently went to collection last year, which we were never notified of, and have still not received notice from PCS. They claim they have contacted us, which is a lie, and I think they are just sitting on the bill to run it up because somehow they know that my husband may in the future receive a Stryker settlement. I know this is the opposite of harassment, since the don't contact us at all, but we are sure PCS and possibly the medical offices are completely breaking the law on this. Please help!
I am contacting you concerning collection agency Professional Credit Service of Springfield, OR. PCS has filed a claim against me in Multnomah County Circuit Court in Portland, OR on 08/11/15 for the amount of $4,001.01. I was delivered these court papers on 11/06/15 and am given 14 days to respond to the court. PCS claims that they have attempted to contact me concerning this debt, however, they did not return my repeated calls/emails as I was attempting to work out a payment plan. Instead of working with me, they went ahead and filed a lawsuit. At this time I have no legal representation and am uncertain if I should just go ahead and pay what PCS is demanding, or, if I should request a hearing. Professional Credit Service re: Ray Klein has issue a Writ of Garnishment against me. I have somewhat of a history with this collection agency and have (in the past) had a judgment against me which never resulted in a garnishment because I was able to pay it off. Since then, new accounts have gone to collection and I have had a payment arrangement in place for $75.00 per month which has been paid faithfully. Last month, PCS claims that they did not receive our check. They also claimed to have called me twice and sent one letter. My caller ID only indicates one call attempt and we received no letter. Because of this, they are executing on this Writ of Garnishment even though we can prove (with check carbon) that a check was written. Even though this check has not been cashed, our rent check (mailed the same day) has been cashed as well as subsequent checks since then. So firstly, I believe they are executing this writ on a judgment that has since been satisfied. Second, this is a case of "my word against theirs" (although I still think the check carbons show that intent was clear). Any recourse?
I have been dealing with Professional credit Services for almost 5 years. I have paid my dues with them recently. I have noticed they are reporting wrong information on my credit report. They won’t release my judgment, I have tried to call them but they are rude. I have sent them letters asking for satisfaction of judgment but have not gotten a response. I also notice they have charging me for special fees. I have gotten 3 bills from them after I sent in payment in 2014. I got an itemized bill but trying to add more bills to the original judgment. My account with Professional Credit Services shows the judgment is paid but they are saying I owe additional $155.00. But then they are reporting on my credit I owe $400.00. Example, on April 14, 2015 Professional Credit was reporting $726.00 but $581.00 was the amount pending on my judgment. I recheck my credit report on May 5, 2015 and it was reporting $622.00 so I sent in payment in amount of $622.00. But I recheck my credit on May 20, 2015 and it was reporting $400.00 still pending. But when I check my account with them it saying I owe 155.00 which is not part of the judgment. So they are reporting the wrong information on my credit report and won’t release the judgment. I also am dealing with Quick Collect Inc. I have only received one bill with them. They were reporting on my credit in the amount of $1849.00 for a year. I sent in partial payment of $344.00 and they raised my bill to $2273.00. I sent in an additional payment for $1631.00 and Quick Collect is still reporting $2273.00 and has taken my money. They have closed my account; I have no access to it. I need help I feel these creditor have ruined my credit. I have had a hard enough time applying for a home loan. I have paid my debt. I feel my rights have been taken from me.
Hi Milena, The moment you told Professional Credit Service the debt was not yours, all collection efforts should have stopped. It sounds like Professional Credit Service violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Collection agencies cannot harass you over a debt, especially when you do not owe the debt. On July 11, 2014 I recognized a pattern of complaints from other consumers regarding billing, collection issues and customer service issues after my initial attempt to resolve inaccurate debt against me. Professional Credit Service, above the law – argumentative attitude is off putting, I requested that PCS provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you and asked for debt validation of the account. I immediately submitting documented proof that both account information and debt is not mine, currently no attempts were made to explain account error or debt. However, continued abusive debt collection tactics used by PCS was in full force, and the added bonus of dealing with sub decent customer service. I experienced a massive breakdown in communication when calling for assistance and or explanation of debt therefore disputing collection debt through all 3 Credit Agencies. This process of clearing my good name and incorrect information from PCS is daunting, time consuming and no price can be calculated for my stress allocated to this mess.
