Third party collection means that they are hired by outside companies to collect debt on the company’s behalf whereas first party means that they are a subsidiary of the original company the debt is owed to. Often times does not identify themselves as a collector when placing account receivable calls to consumers and that is something to watch out for as it is a violation of the law for them not to. If you want to know just how unhappy consumers are with GC Services, take a look at the number of lawsuits filed against on the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (“PACER”). PACER is the federal docket throughout the country that lists federal complaints filed against . When you do a search for GC Services, there are over 1500 lawsuits filed against GC Services. Most of these lawsuits involve consumer rights’ violations.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) is a federal law that applies to everyone in the United States. In other words, everyone is protected under the FDCPA. The FDCPA is a laundry list of what can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt. If is harassing you over a debt, you have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) protects you from robocalls. Robocalls are those annoying, automated, recorded calls that a computer makes to you all day long. You can tell it’s a robocall because either no one is on the other end of the line or there’s a delay when you pick up the phone before a live person comes on the line. You can get $500 per call if violates the TCPA. Have you received a message from that sounds pre-recorded? Or, maybe the message you received from is cutoff at the beginning or the end? These are tell-tale signs that the message is pre-recorded. If you have these messages on your cell phone, you may have a TCPA case against .
The Electronic Fund Transfer Act (“EFTA”) protects electronic payments that are deducted from bank accounts. If took unauthorized deductions from your bank account, you may have an EFTA claim. , like most collection agencies, wants to set up reoccurring payments from consumers. Imagine how much money gets if hundreds, if not thousands, of consumers electronically pay them $50-$100, or more, per month. If you agreed to this type of reoccurring payment, must follow certain steps to comply with the EFTA. Did continue to take electronic payments after you said stop? Did take more money from your checking account than you agreed to? If so, let’s talk about your rights under the EFTA.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) works to ensure that no information reported to your credit report is false. In essence, it gives you the right to dispute those inaccuracies that you find on your credit report. We handled a lot of cases recently where reported debt on a consumer’s credit report. likely reports on credit reports to obtain greater leverage over the consumer. If is on your credit report, they may tell you if you pay the debt, they’ll remove it from your credit report. This is commonly known as pay for delete. You pay , and they delete the debt from your credit report. Even if is not on your credit report, maybe the original creditor is. If you pay off the debt to , then the original creditor, and , should accurately report this on your credit report.
Several states also have laws that provide its citizens an additional layer of protection. For example, if you live in California, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Montana, or Pennsylvania you may be able to tack on a state-law claim with your federal law claim above. North Carolina, for example, has one of the most consumer-friendly statutes in the country. If you live in NC, and you’re harassed over a debt, you may get $500.00 - $4,000.00 in damages per violation. We work with a local counsel in NC. Our NC clients have received some great results in debt collection harassment cases. If you live in NC, and is harassing you, you have tons of leverage to get a great settlement.
We will use state and federal laws to immediately stop debt collection. We will send a cease and desist letter to get the harassment to stop the same day. If violates the FDCPA, EFTA, FCRA, or any state laws, you may be entitled to money damages. For example, under the FDCPA, you can get up $1,000.00 in damages plus actual damages. The FDCPA has a fee-shift provision. This means, pays our attorney’s fees and costs. If you have a TCPA case against , we will handle it based on a contingency fee.
THAT’S NOT ALL…
We have helped hundreds of consumers stop phone calls from GC Services. We know how to stop the harassment and get you money damages. ONCE AGAIN, you will not pay us a penny for our time. Based on our experience, does credit report. That means, will mark your credit report with the debt they are trying to collect on. In addition to , the original creditor may be on your credit report. For example, if you owe Sallie Mae Bank on a student loan, and is collecting on it, both Salle Mae Bank and may have separate entries on your credit report. This is important because you will want both parties to update your credit report if you pay off the debt.
THE GOOD NEWS IS…
If is on your credit report, we can help you dispute it. Mistakes on your credit report can be very costly. Along with causing you to pay higher interest rates, you may be denied credit, insurance, a rental home, a loan, or even a job because of these mistakes. Some mistakes may include someone else’s information on your credit report, inaccurate public records, stale collection accounts, or maybe you were a victim of identity theft. If you have a mistake on your credit report, there is a process to dispute them. My office will help you pull your credit report and dispute any inaccurate information.
If a credit reporting agency violates its obligations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), you may be entitled to statutory damages up to $1,000.00, plus the credit reporting agency will be required to fix the error. The FCRA also has a fee-shift provision. This means, the credit reporting agency pays your attorney’s fees and costs. Therefore, you will not pay me a penny for my time. Anyone can sue anyone for any reason. Since GC Services is a third and first party collector there is a chance they could sue you for debt owed to them or their parent company. We have not seen sue our clients often, if at all. But, is large enough and has the means to sue. So, we would not be surprised to hear that sued over a debt. If has threatened to sue you, call us. We can help.
Yes, if is collecting on a federal loan. Besides federal loans, GC would first have to get a judgment. If has not sued you, then cannot get a judgment. If does not have a judgment, then cannot garnish your wages. Minus limited situations (usually dealing with debts owed to the government for student loans, taxes, etc.), in order to garnish someone’s wages, you need a judgment first.

Harassment Cases Settled
I received a phone call from GC services one day stating that I owed them $160.00 for something that happened 5 years ago. About a month later they contacted me about another debt that is for $1,600.00 from the year 15. I have no idea who GC services are or if their claims are legitimate
I get a lot of harassing robo phone calls, some I am certain are being generated by GC Services. I have received "judgement" letters from GC Services where apparently they got a judgement against me but failed to tell me about a court date or even what the judgement against me is concerning. So I am reaching out to Agruss for relief from the harrassment I am experiencing and to get some money for my pain and suffering.
Hi James, you came to the right place. I've been helping consumers with GC Services for 10+ years. Do you know what the underlying debt is? Also, has GC Services left you any voicemail messages? We can discuss these facts and anything else that you have experience with GC. I will call you. Thanks, Mike.
called my phone today ,9/10/2019 , Asked if a knew a Lisa Gordon , wouldnt tell me who they were or the reason for the call other than " its for personal reasons " i asked questions but the lady refused to answer any of them , then they hung up , i called the number back , and they refused to tell me what kind of business they were except that they were a national agency , guy on the phone started asking me questions , and i told him that i dont answer questions , apparently he didnt like that response and got a bit snooty over it , in asked him what law said i had to answer his questions , and he backed off then
Hi Robert, I'm sorry to hear about your issues with GC Services. You came to the right place. I can help you. I'll call you to discuss your rights. Thanks, Mike.
I have never heard from GCS personally, but they contacted someone I know trying to collect a debt out of California for a traffic ticket in 2004. I apparently paid 270.90 dollars on a $282.90 ticket and now the with interest and fees owe $200. They gave out my Drivers license number, my address they had on file, and other information without my consent to a 3rd party.
Hi David, GC Services does collect on traffic tickets. Have you received anything in writing from GC Services? If not, call them and ask them to send you something in writing before paying anything. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Mike.
The client processed a garnishment against me, I had no prior notification or even spoken to the company or received any information on a judgement until the paperwork appeared at my workplace and they are taking 15% of my check and continually call me EVERYDAY multiple times. They never sent a letter, they call from a somewhat local number then tell me to call them with no reference number, just call 844-842-8256. If they are garnishing me why am i still getting these phone calls??
Hi Sherry, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with GC Services. Have they ever left you a voicemail? Also, have you told them to stop calling? We have resolved several cases against GC Services, and we may be able to resolve yours. I want to gain a better understanding of your situation by speaking on the phone. Give us a call and we can discuss, if you are interested. Thanks, Mike.
GC services is taking money out of my account every two weeks of the total of $250. The process of setting this up was never completed but they are still withdrawing the money.
Hi John, there are certain laws that may be able to protect you from these practices. The Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA) protects certain electronic payments that are deducted from consumers' bank accounts. They have to follow certain steps if you made an agreement, however, it sounds like the agreement was not finalized. We can set up a time to discuss the specific details of your case so we can see if we can help you. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks, Mike.
I know I owe money to the court but every year during tax time they intercept my refund, I want GCS to stop calling me
Hi Freddy, this could be something we can help you with. How many calls have you received? Have you answered the phone? We can discuss your situation in more detail over the phone. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Mike.
GCS calls me several time everyday whether at work or not. Regarding a dent that isn't mine.
Hi Garnell, I would be very frustrated if I were in your position. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is meant to protect consumers like you from certain forms of harassment. This sounds like something that we may be able to help you with. Have you told them to stop calling you? Please let me know if you would like to set up a time to speak. Thanks, Mike.
I personally don't have a situation. This is a business that we received an automated call at and we have no idea who they are asking for but told us to call 855-245-1519. We have 140 employees so how are we supposed to know who the call is for!
Hi Denyse. You came to the right place. We have resolved countless consumers' issues with GC Services and we may be able to help you, also. However, I would like to get more information on what you have experienced. Please let me know if you would like to set up a time to speak. Thanks, Mike.
Its actually for my wife she has a debt with GC services and every time we try to set up repayment they claim we did not fill the paperwork out correctly now they are threatening to garnish her wages and harassing people at her workplace trying to get information on her. I mean I was the one that tried to set up repayment last year because they took her whole income tax. They started a repayment then after couple months stop taking payment with no notice and put her back in default then took this year income tax. I tried working with them but all they do is get very nasty on the phone if you try to rebuttle what they say and I'm just tired of dealing with them. I asked if I paid it off would her credit be restored they said no I had to go through their repayment plan for that to come off her record. I hope you guys are legit cause idk what to do to help her anymore. That would be all also she only owes 1700 if we were to pay off only reason I haven't is that they said the default won't come off her account if i do that. Thank you!
Hi Joseph, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience with GC Services. They certainly have violated federal laws regarding debt collection, like the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), in the past. Are they disclosing this debt to her coworkers? Have you told them to stop calling you? We can resolve your issue for you, but I would like to set up a time to speak on the phone to better understand your situation. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Mike.
I NOTICED SOMETHING ON MY CREDIT AND WANTED TO SEE IF THERE WAS SOMETHING I COULD DO ABOUT IT AND WHAT IT IS!
Hi Dynez, we can discuss your experience with GC Services on the phone so I can understand what happened. Please let me know if you would be interested in our help. Thanks, Mike.
I need a laywer. I have student loans which are almost 20 years old, with the exception of some i took out in 2010, which I do owe. the previous ones, are showing on my credit report as being discharged in bankruptcy. GC services started contacting me about a year ago, threating me with with wage garnishment and when I would ask who they are, they would give me the run around, could not answer or will not answer any of my questions about the originater of my loans were and are through and I have entered into a payment agreement with them, to give me more time to research the validity of my loans and now, because I will not give them a full financial discloser of all my assetts and information, they are sending me letters again, saying they are going to continue to proceed with wage garnishment without a court order!
Hi Kim, that's certainly a stressful situation. Have you told them to stop sending you letters? Threatening consumers about with wage garnishment could be a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), along with a few other details you mentioned. But to be certain that you are entitled to financial compensation from this harassment, I want to speak with you about your situation in more detail. Please let me know if you would like to set up a time to talk. Thanks, Mike.
My name is Sam. I get daily calls for GC services. I never answer their calls. How can I stop them and make them go away? What do you do to help?!
Hi Sam, you came to the right place, as we have resolved countless cases against GC Services. First, you should answer the phone next time and try to understand what it is that they are calling about. Then, tell them to stop calling you. If they continue to contact you, by letter or by phone, we certainly can step in and try to help you. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Mike.
I'd like to discuss an issue w/ GC Services. Over 20 years ago, I went to college and borrowed money from Dept of Ed to do so. I joined the military to pay for additional years of school, and in the process was sent to war in the Persian Gulf. During this time, I was instructed that I could defer payments on my student loans. Long story short, I filed for the deferments while in boot camp, informed Dept of Ed while I was in the Gulf, and somehow the deferment letters were mismanaged, and my account status was placed into default. I made many payments over the years, all the way to 1997, and while in the military, Fannie Mae garnished my wages on behalf of Dept Ed. Now, 23 years later, GC Services has contacted me, garnishing my wages. I am not under the impression that additional monies are owed to them, but I am unable to dispute it. It appears strange that they reach out after 23 years. I have not been off-grid or in hiding. So, in the interest of being law abiding and trying to keep my employment record clear. I have entered into an agreement with them to clear the debt (14,500) within 90 days. They said they would fax me a copy of the payout agreement so that I have a copy for my records, that was 3 weeks ago. My stance is that I should not wire any amount of money to GC until I have an agreement in-hand from them, stating that the debt will be absolved by this activity. So, I called them and they keep giving me the runaround about why they haven't sent a letter to me, but that they are still expecting the $$!
Hi Jason, that must be very frustrating to deal with. Yes, you definitely should have an agreement for a payment plan in writing before you take action on it. Unfortunately, GC Services often violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), so you may be able to dispute it in some way. Please let me know if you have any questions or are interested in our help. Thanks, Mike.
I have a sprint account they said for me to call you to see if my balance could be negotiate it I ended my service with sprint but I still have two phones that I have a balance on. I want to pay off my balance but I was wondering if there is a negotiable price I can pay!
Hi Karen, we are Agruss Law Firm and can help you with issues regarding a debt you may have with GC Services. If they are harassing you over a debt, give us a call and we can discuss the details. Thanks, Mike.
GC services was supposed to have been handling my student loans, and getting them out of default. I was told everything was fine. Now, I get a code on my taxes that ALL of them were taken. That's over $4400! I needed that money to live on. I sent all this paperwork to them. Getting my loans out of default, setting up payment plan, and now my taxes were intercepted. I really tried to do the right thing. I have 3 kids. 1 of which is Autistic. I needed that money to pay my bills. I trusted them that they took care of my loans. I have no job. The program I went to college for is a joke. There is NO work here! I cannot get that money back. It's gone. Now, I lose my house!
Hi Angie, I'm sorry to hear about your situation with GC Services. But, you came to the right place. Have you been in much contact with GC Services about your loans? I want to get some more details on your case to see if you may be entitled to financial compensation. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks, Mike.
Almost a year ago GC contracted me about a student loan which I wanted to dispute that I owed. Anyway they kept asking me for information regarding my situation just stringing me along until they eventually garnished my wages. In order to stop the $365 a month garnishment I had to make 3 voluntary payments of 135$ a month & now the garnishment has stop but they are threatening to start it again because they claim they show no record of my voluntary payments. They even said I was still being garnished!
Hi Marcel. Unfortunately, GC Services does not always use fair practices when collecting a debt. They should not be making empty threats to you. Give our office a call and we can discuss your situation in more detail to see if we can help you and you can be entitled to compensation. Thanks, Mike.
I need to send a tax statement because you wanted papers back by 14. GC service? I have if your gc services. I'm on complant. I need something for sure tho. I filled out a thing on web a few day's ago. I also sent mail to dept of ed, a couple others. I have been making payments consecutively for a couple years. This place called me with 20 different phone #'s and more as not helping or credit my acct even tho my tax refunds been kept for years!
Hi John. Is GC Services harassing you over a debt? I can help you if we speak over the phone and I can understand the facts of your situation to resolve your issue with GC Services. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Mike.
I'm receiving these notices in the mail from GC services and I thought I was dealing with the state of NJ for fines on a ticket I've gotten in the past. I've paid a couple times but the balance doesnt go down and their website shows a different balance when i put in my account number. Are these threats of arrests on the notices they are sending real?!
Hi Max, I would be very confused as well if I were in your position. If they are threatening you, they may be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Let's speak over the phone so you can tell me the specific facts of your experience and we can see if we can help. You may be entitled to financial compensation. Thanks, Mike.
I went to school, one of those private schools promising me job after graduation. I graduated and got told to look for a job on Craigslist. But during that time I was a heavy drinker. Didn't know what I was signing half the time that school took loans out in my name, now im being garnished for a degree I can't even use. Also during that time I was in a state of tremendous shock. I just lost my mom, I was disowned by my family. And was desperately trying to piece together life. I was eventually evicted from my apartment because I wasn't able to find a job that was promised to me. And now I'm a blue collar worker working to pay my bills. Im pretty much frustrated with this whole thing and want it gone. I have been harassed by them, and now I can't even feed myself. I just want it to stop. Thank you!
Hi John, I'm so sorry to hear about your hardships. While it may be a difficult situation, we may be able to help. What do they say when they contact you? Have you told them to stop? I would like to speak with you to see how we may be able to help. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thanks, Mike.
I have student loans and am paying $5 a month to GV services but still get phone calls for my student loans GC!
Hi Luke. GC Services has actually had several debt collection harassment cases where we were able to help the consumer and resolve their issue, similar to yours. What is GC Services saying when they call you? Have you ever told them to stop calling? Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to set up a time to speak. Thanks, Mike.

GC service is trying to collect a debt that my credit report says I don't have. I have a letter they sent to myself and my employer to garnish my wages. Can u help me? They are trying to get 4000.00 out and they also contacted me and ask for my debit card number and a picture text off my check stub. They call me everyday!
My name is Chris. I have a failure to appear from 2015 for unlicensed and any having proof of insurance. Can you help with this and approx. How much will it cost? I just want to know if you can help?!
Hi Chris, was GC Services harassing you over a debt? Hiring us will not cost you anything as we operate on a contingency-fee basis. This means that you will not pay anything unless and until we win your case, in which case we receive a percentage of your settlement. Please give me a call if you would like to discuss your situation in more detail. Thanks, Mike.
My name is Steve. GC services calls me, leave cryptic messages, won't state their business. I think its for a medical bill that has popped up on my credit report somehow. I don't recognize this medical bill, not sure what they're talking about!
Hi Steve, it sounds like GC Services already violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by not stating their business when contacting you. This is something that we can help you with. Give us a call and we can see if they violated anything else and how we can help. Thanks, Mike.
Hi there. GC Services keeps calling my place of employment, looking for verification that I work there, which my boss refuses to give over the phone. But they apparently have my SSN, and are now talking about wage garnishment. They may be trying to collect on a student loan I defaulted on several years ago. If that's the case, I would like to work out payment, because I finally have means to eventually pay it back, but after reading about the company, I'm scared to directly with them. Can you help!
I owe NJDMV surcharges which they have referred to GC Services for collection. I have contacted them and they have informed me my debt MUST be paid off in 22 months leaving my payments well over $500/mo!
Student loan was in default. Harrassed about it. Set up plan to pay. Made payments. No receipt or proof of payment . No clear answer on what was happening with my account. Still receive payment coupons though. So confused. I don't want my accounts or pay checked levyed!
I'm getting calls from GC Services...and they are calling my phone as well as my job. They are calling me from 1-800 numbers and 1-678 numbers. They do not identify themselves when first calling... what can I do
Hi there, I am in a similar situation where they are taking garnishments out of my paycheck for school loans which is making it hard for me to pay my rent and bills. Have you figured out any way to get them to stop taking money directly out of your paycheck? Thanks!
I keep getting phone calls from GC services that usually never leave a message however this time they did and put down the 855-298-8436 number. When I looked it up your information showed up on Google. They usually screen it by using a local area code from the Fort Lauderdale area!
I have tried to make arrangements after being threatened, constantly harrassed, told my loans were in defferment, set up payment arrangements after being threatened with wage garnishment. I was never sent and have still not benn send any documents confirming deferment or payment arrangements, I am now again, being threatened with wage garnishment, after submitting payments, because I will not disclose my full financial information. I did submit my current pay checks and what I pay for car insurance. I pay much more on my bills than what I wish to disclose to them, as they will not disclose any information to validate any of the amounts they say I owe for my student loans. I had to block all their numbers as they constantly harass me daily with people who claim to come and serve me papers for wage garnishment, after agrreing to make payments to student loans which were discharged in bankruptcy and over 20 years old..help.. I dont know what to do. I hired Lexington law to help me, dispute the what GC services are saying I owe student federal aid. As when I ask for proof, GC services gives me the run around and wont give me any extension numbers of the people callimg my phone 24/7
I get daily calls for GC services. I never answer their calls. How can I stop them and make them go away?!

During this time, I was instructed that I could defer payments on my student loans....long story short, I filed for the deferments while in boot camp, informed Dept of Ed while I was in the Gulf, and somehow the deferment letters were mismanaged, and my account status was placed into default. So, in the interest of being law abiding and trying to keep my employment record clear...I have entered into an agreement with them to clear the debt (14,500) within 90 days. They said they would fax me a copy of the payout agreement so that I have a copy for my records....that was 3 weeks ago. My stance is that I should not wire any amount of money to GC until I have an agreement in-hand from them, stating that the debt will be absolved by this activity. So, I called them....and they keep giving me the runaround about why they haven't sent a letter to me, but that they are still expecting the $$!
GC services was supposed to have been handling my student loans, and getting them out of default. I was told everything was fine. Now, I get a code on my taxes that ALL of them were taken... that's over $4400!!!
They took almost 500.00 from my pay check and I did know anything about it. I never got a call or a letter fom them!
Call a lot. Leave cryptic messages, wont state their business. Changed phone number, still getting calls on the new number.
i recently went to ATT to set up a new phone plan and they promised to buy me out of my contract with sprint. ATT took my sprint phone, and told me that i didnt have to pay any fees, or do anything else. Come to find out, i was supposed to upload my final sprint bill, (which i was never informed of). i asked the employee if there was anything else that i would need to do before i left the store, and he assured me there was nothing else. I was supposed to upload my final bill to ATT and then i would be sent a prepaid visa as reimbursement for my sprint account. since the upload was never done, i never received my compensation. Also, ATT was not supposed to take my sprint device, since i was still in contract, which i was not informed of. Sprint then sent my account to collections for the amount of the device and my final bill, and they also tried to charge my bank account for the total which is $1,047.88. ATT tells me that there is nothing that they can do since the refund is past the time limit. but this is all on their side, i was not given the proper information, or the proper tools to efficiently handle this situation!
I was not happy at all by your company not sending out payment arrangements that was made through me email.. I need some sort of documentations of the arrangement that was made on the phone today.. I agree to make pymt arrangements. rep stated that I will receive reminder 2 weeks prior before pymt.. please send me the dates of pymts/amounts via email.. Thanks!
I got a call from gc at 877-359-5523 on my moms cell phone, and dont know how they got it she just left a message with my mom saying to call back at a different number an 847 number arlington heights il okay I will get the full number!
Hi, they just called my brother!! I keep paying Amex online since I believe they technically still own the debt, but the fact they are calling my family is horrible. They are leaving shady voicemails with just a name I can barely understand and a number and an extension. Please help. Thanks!
I have a account in gc services after being falsely charged in a dui check point dmv just released my license but gc services is asking for money its not fair. I was falsely charged in a dui check point the court droped the case but the dmv kept asking me for a doctor physical to see it im able to drive. This went on o. On for two years until a month ago the dmv sent a letter saying they have no more evidence to keep my license so basically they told me we never had anything on you!
Ok. So I'm just curious. This debt agency from 877-359-5523 not only call me and don't leave details who they are other than their personal name, but they now called my mother who she has nothing to do with the debt. They somehow got her number. Are these legitimate legal issues or is that legal for them to do. Mind you, this debt is like 5 years olld and like 80 bucks!
i have made one payment to gc services on behalf of west covina,ca court house. do i need to continue paying off my debt to release the hold on my license with dmv? i just want to know how to get my license off hold through another route. im not sure what info your lawyer will need!
I wanted to know what do I do if gc services is charging me. We'll I got 3 tickets they keep sending them one is for 210 ,360, n 145 is 900 in total!
I signed with GC services to pay on my student loans. I was making payments on time and then they started to withdraw from my account causing over drafts so i closed that account and now they have started garnishing my wages and that puts me in a financial bind because I take care of 8 people including a disabled mother. I'm a single mother of 5 children and I also take care of my 68 year old mom who is blind and disabled. My income is the only source I have to take care of my household so when I finish paying all my bills and buying food, I have nothing left. I lost my car and Im really in a financial hardship. I signed with them to help pay my loans which are in default and they told me that after 4 payments that they would go back to good standing and that wasn't true because I tried to apply for school and was denied financial aid. We discussed how much I was able to pay which was $25 but that still was too much. Now they are taking $137.00 out of my check every 2 weeks!
I am receiving calls on a debt that was wiped out on a bankruptcy and is also past the collection point per California Law. They keep calling.
I have a few tickets that went to g.c service can u help me not pay so much or none at all. G.c Is what is holding me from getting my license back!
I keep getting GC services calls but do not want to call back. should I call to have them stop? I do not know why they are calling. I get a call from a Hannah Briscoe saying please call back regarding important issue. I believe they called my mother also!
is there where I can try to start pay of my student loan that went in to debt collection? I had a student load.. and thought I 'froze' it because I am in the military.. and by the time I found out it wasn't it was put into debt collection.. I called many people and kept getting transferred and different phone numbers.. the last phone number I got was to this place.. I just want to take care of it and get it out of my debt. I am currently deployed.. but the loan was taken out when I was going to Jamestown Community College. I am deployed and use Magic Jack but sometimes that number doesn't work!
Yesterday GC services called my new employer looking for me. Is this legal? Basically I started training at a new position that I was hardly qualified for. I have no idea how they got my employment info so fast. I have not even received a paycheck or had the chance to make any money there and I'm afraid this form of embarrassment has put me back into unemployment. So if I lost my job as a result is there anything I can do regarding this? Only that I have not even heard of this company until yesterday and I've never received a message on any of my publicly posted personal phone numbers that they should have attempted initially!
I was just browsing calls from 855-359-8506 - called my work and left a voicemail for me to call concerning "a matter in the office" The number tracks on the Internet as being GC Services and so I ended up on your page. I do know that they called for me at work, and I have not given any creditor my new work number at my new job!
ive gotten calls from #s on your website i am looking at, found through searchin on google supposedly ive been in contactwith gc services to get a student loan out of default but when i called gc services they have no information on that # intheir system nor my ssn or name or my phone #. i do mind for now its not necessary. i just called the # and they claim to be GCservices after i called the gc services company through their own phone #. after gc services claims the # isnttheirs!
hi, i was just wondering if gc services is a scam because a friend of mine recommended me to help me consolidate my loans. well i owe money on student loans and they threatened me telling me that if I don't pay the forbearance fee by the end of this month, it will go to a 3rd party collection agency and the ageny will tell me to pay the whole amount that i don't have and I'm already making slim to none and no one can help me by letting me borrow money!
Can a debt collector call my spouse's work about my debt? the collector called my spouse's work and left a message for me? I am doing some research and it says a debt collector can talk w/ a spouse about my debt, but that should only be if they are calling my home, not his work. They have not disclosed who they are other than to leave a number w/ the relatives - but anyone can look up those numbers!
How much does Agruss charge to take a case to court against GC Services? not really because I personally know that, under the law, a person can only sue a debt collector for a maximum of $1000 per violation of the FDCPA, even if Mr. Agruss alleges they violated more than that, I wouldn't be able to pay him. GC Financial Services has been contacting family about a supposed debt. I have not received a letter from them, in accordance with the FDCPA which states: What I supposedly owe, how to contact them, i.e. mailing address, phone number, contact and they are not licensed in the state of Idaho Department of Finance to collect on debts nor are they bonded. I would prefer, at this point in time, to be contacted via email. At that point in time I would send a complete dissertation of my situation and what is going on. If the response back, via email, is positive, I will then provide my phone number. not at this time, Faye, I hope you understand that, until I feel that a further contact with Agruss Law Firm, LLC is necessary I will provide my full name, phone number, etc!
Voice mail for me was left on my husband's cell phone. Only the caller's name and phone number was given. No information on what the call concerned. Called the number back and received an answering message that did not identify the company. Did an internet search and found out what the company called and this website.
Hi Hailey! I received a call from Richard Lee at 888-817-4957 and then he called my husband. Is this a legit debt that I wouldnt know about or a scam? Not for sure how I wouldnt know about something like this and nothing shows on my credit report, etc, he asked me to tell him my address and SS# and said I had a debt with the state of Missouri from Nov 2009. Richard Lee just stated that I owed money for my prior business Cardins Salvage, Inc. He first said $1,130.36. By the end of the conversation he said $10,690.93. I told him I would contact the Sate of Mo at the # he gave me of 573-751-7200 and see what was going on and then contact him tomorrow. He said we would call me back in a few weeks if I ddint call back!
800-846-6406 calls me, leaves messages, but never says why they're calling. Can you help?
I have been getting calls from GC serivices at work at home and on my cell phone. They do not say who they are merely the name of the individual who is calling, They then called two third parties, one being my elderly mother who was harrassed and became very upset. The company breaks laws, harrasses people and should be fined.
GC Services’s is calling about an AMEX debt, I am behind, however I am making small l payments. They Call my cell and even called my office, before I can even return a call.
Jeff cap keeps calling workplace.
Hi Andrew, GC Services is notorious fo leaving voicemail messages that do not provide enough information under the law. I have helped countless consumers harassed by collection agencies over cryptic voicemail messages. If you have any of the messages saved, that will help us prove your case against GC Services. I'll call you so I can listen to the messages over the phone. This sounds like something I can help you with. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Sylvia, You are correct! Once you tell a collection agency you cannot receive calls at work, the collection agency cannot call you at work anymore. If they do, you have a case against that collection agency based on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"). I have helped others harassed by GC Services at work. I can help you stop the calls, and assert your rights under the FDCPA if GC Services violated the law. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Leona, I'm sorry to hear you are receiving excessive calls from GC Services. You came to the right place. I have settled over 3500 debt collection harassment cases. I have probably spoken to twice as many consumers, helping them stop the calls, stop the harassment, and giving them back their peace of mind. We can discuss all of your consumer rights on the phone. Please have the following information ready for our call: (1) what number(s) show up on your call ID when your are called by GC Services, (2) Do you have any letters from GC Services, and (3) Do you have any voicemail messages from GC Services. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Jennifer, I think the numbers 855-245-1519 and 855-209-1888 are from Intergrated Collection Services, which is a separate collection agency that GC Services. Have you received anything in writing from Intergrated Collection Services, GC Services, or any other collection agency? You may also want to check your credit report to see if you truly owe this debt. When someone threatens that you have a lawsuit filed against you, it may also be a scam company. Let me get some more information from you over the phone to see what I can do to help you. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Victoria, I'm sorry to hear you are getting calls every 30 minutes. How annoying! What number shows up on your call ID? I want to double check who is calling you so I can hep you put a stop to the calls. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Donna, I searched 800-569-0633, and it appears to be one of GC Services' numbers? When you spoke with Juanita, did she tell you it was GC Services calling? Also, although GC Services said they would take you off of their list, has GC Services called you again? I can help you, and your daughter, stop the calls from GC. Let's go over your rights on the phone. I'll call you. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Kevin, Is GC Services now calling you over the First Premiere Bank credit card? If so, has GC Services sent you anything in writing? GC Services is the largest privately owned collection agency in the country. Throughout my career, I have help over 100 people with issues with GC Services. I will help you figure out the discrepancy with this credit card. I will also help you get GC Services off of your back. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Betsy, I understand your frustration. About 25% of my clients are harassed on debts they do not owe. I can quickly and easily put a stop to these calls. What number shows up on your caller ID? Have you told GC Services to stop calling? Thanks, Mike.
Hi John, It sounds like GC services mixed up your number with another consumer, or the other consumer previously had your cell phone. Either, I can help you stop the calls. If GC is harassing you on your cell phone, you are protected under two laws. The first law is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"), which protects consumers from third-party debt collectors. You can get up to $1000 in damages under the FDCPA. The next law is the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"). The TCPA protects consumers from robocalls. Under the TCPA, you get up $500 in damages per call, or $1,500 in damages per call if the calls are willful. I'll call you so we can discuss your rights further on the phone. I can also answer any questions you may have. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Calvin, That's a good question. Stopping the harassment is easier than figuring out how to avoid federal tax withholding. The key issue is if your loans are federal, private, or both. Let's talk on the phone so I can figure out more details about your student loans and why type of harassment you're going through. Sometimes, it's better to get letters and calls than to deal with federal tax withholding. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Darren, If you disputed the debt within 30 days of receiving the initial collection letter from GC Services, GC should not have been calling you without validating the debt first. I'll call you to get more details from you to see if we can help you. We will not refer your case to anyone. Even if we cannot help you under the law, we will give you someone suggestions on what to do with GC Services. We also provide student loan consultations http://www.agrussstudentloan.com/ Thanks, Mike.
Hi Elinne, I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your student loans, and now problems with GC Services. We can help you with both. My firm provides student loans counseling http://www.agrussstudentloan.com/ and helps stop debt collection harassment. I'm very familiar with GC Services. I'm confident we can help you. I'll call you to get some more details. Thanks, Mike.
They keep calling for someone who does not live here!
Signed up with GC Services thinking it would help me with an outstanding student loan. Provided information and agreed to pay $5/mo for a period of time after which my loan would be removed from default and restructured accordingly. It is month five and they are stating that the client rejected my application and was raising the payment. They sent another agreement with false information pertaining to my monthly expenses. When I brought this up to the rep he said it didn't matter to just sign the agreement. I told him I would review and call back. He became almost frantic trying to keep me on the phone and called me back after I thanked him and hung up. They call excessively and are inappropriately pushy. Now I believe they are running a scam as well.
They keep harassing me and at my job.
I disputed a debt with GC Services, who is collecting on a school loan. Within 30 days of sending the initial letter, I received collection calls. I disputed the debt through certificate of mailing at its corporate office in Houston. I saved the collection calls in digital format through Google voice. If your firm cannot handle the matter, please do not refer it out. Thank you. Please advise.
I have been receiving letters and phone calls from GC Services about my student debt that is around $40k according to their statement. What can I do not just to stop the harassment but to make sure that they are unable to take my tax return and wage garnishment? Please advise. Thank you.
CG services has called my family members, looking for me, I don't know why, I looked up number on net, found AMEX uses them, I owe AMEX 4500, but I always send payments twice a month, 100, Just this feb 2016 or Late Jan2016 go letter saying card was cancelled. I have talked with AMEX before about how I am going to pay debt, But now these "harassing" phone calls to different FAMILY members. They never called me, I don't understand.. SO Just talked to AMEX and they said I had to send something in writing. I am confused, So I am contacting you. OFCOURSe there is more but small space here, AMEX know and have been told repeatedly via calls intuited by me of my situation and they also continue to charge me late fees which is fine, cause I owe them money, But something doesn't sound right if they sold my debt and wrote it off on their taxes, and another company bought it, UHG well I am confused, I continue to pay AMEX twice a month whenI get paid 100 dollars each time (200month or more if I have it), and well that why I am contacting you. Thanks 100% disable Vet sc
GC Services is constantly calling me and calling me at work. What can I do?
Harassing calls from debt collector.
Have old debt that they have been calling me at work and leaving messages, calling family and today called my H.R. dept. wanting information about my employment. H.R. contacted me to make sure was not about future employment before they called them back. Said lady was very rude. Did not look good for them to be calling my employer. The company I work for is largest producer of pvc powder in the world or in other words very large company.
Signed up for a credit card with First Premire Bank to try to establish decent credit but I ran into a problem with the card company in June. I was trying to rent a car but didn't realize my limit was $300 at the time. I loaded a total amount of $600 onto the card. Since my limit was only 300 I couldn't go over that amount. I've been trying to get the amount back that was loaded onto the card but only received a refund of $128. It is past due investigation of thirty days. The rest of the money is listed as payments, which I only used the card twice prior to this problem. I have all documents and receipts in my possession plus I am a previous client.
GC Services is calling my employer, my mother and me several times a day for weeks about a student loan.
They are calling my boss and everyone in our office saying they are garnishing wages
This is actually my wife's case. She had defaulted on a Federal Student loan. CG called me several times attempting to get information about my wife. These people have constantly called my wife as well wanting to talk her. Since this was over the phone she did not know who she was talking too. So she refused to provide any information. They call her and I using a "under cover" phone number of 985-464-4983 not their real number 855-359-8506 which identifies them as CG Services. They are demanding payment of the student debt all while the ECMC collection agency has sequestered 1/2 of our Federal tax refunds the past three yeas totaling about $15,000. I had my wife send them a "validation letter" by priority mail disputing the amount they claim is owed. We are awaiting their response. However, we believe they are calling us using different phone numbers. We may want to take action to stop the harassment. Especially since my wife has some health problems which get ex asperated by these collection tactics.
THEY CALLED LOOKING FOR MY DAUGHTER. I TOLD THEM THAT I AM HER MOTHER. THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME WHAT IT WAS IN REFERENCE TO. THEY DID NOT HAVE MY DAUGHTER'S PHONE NUMBER. I REFUSED TO PROVIDE IT TO THEM. I ASKED HOW THEY GOT MY PHONE NUMBER. THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS SOUNDED VERY 'SHADY' TO ME AND THAT I WILL NOT RELAY THE MESSAGE TO HER FOR HER SAFETY. JUANITA ORONA 1 800 569 0633 X1650180 WAS THE PERSON I SPOKE WITH. THEY SAID THEY WOULD REMOVE MY NAME FROM THEIR LIST.
GC called my wife repeatedly over a debt that my *mother* owes. My mother had a stroke 7 months ago and I have POA for her estate and finances. They wanted my wife to fax them the POA that I hold in order to give details regarding the debt. My wife told them that they would need to talk to me. When I called them they would not give any details regarding my mother's debt. The woman I spoke with requested that I fax the POA to her. This document contains personal details, so I refused telling her my mother was in the hospital and that I don't pay any third party companies. I also informed her that I was recording the conversation. When I told her all of this she was anxious to hang up.
GC Services has been inundating me with rob ovals now for the last 3 months. Previously when they called live I told them Ed does not live here. I reiterated that again on other live calls. They said they didn't believe me. I told them I am on the Do Not Call List. Since that time I now get robocalls at least 6 days a week. I am very frustrated. Please help.
Student loan, collection agency was NCO Financial services. They were in negotiations with my attorney to settle in one lump sum. now I am being called by CG services, they are calling the company I work for rather. since I have an attorney, can they bypass my attorney just by selling to another collection agency? the attorney I have is a relative who was doing it as a favor. I am the poor cousin. he isnt really interested in helping me.
Received fraudelent mail from a company called GC services saying I owed $356.03 to dishnet. When I spoke with Dishnet I am told my account has been cancelled and I owe nothing
Stop calling me every 30 minutes, please stop harassing me !
GC is harassing me non stop. I'm about to loose my job they call there so much!
I am receiving a phone call from integrated services the phone number calling is 855-245-1519 leaving me a message to call 855-209-1888. I have no clue whom this is my number is on the do not call list. It appears I have a law suit against me. What should I do
I have begun to receiving excessive calls from different numbers multiple times a day, but always the same person calling and leaving voice messages with only her name and return number. They have now continued to call my personal cellphone, my current job office and even my friends/family members and even previous employers! They have crossed the line and I refuse to even speak to them about anything. I am done with their harassment and will not continue to accept it. I have started looking into filing a suit against them and came across this website when I googled the phone numbers they have been calling from. I'm filling this out in hopes that this is a legitimate supportive law group that will be able to help me with this aggravating matter.
Stop GC Services from calling me. They keep calling from 877-710-8001 looking for a Philip Morton. That is not me! I am sick and tired of them calling me. I am not who they are looking for. How did they get my number. Why won't they believe I am not Philip Morton? Who is this jerk who gave them my number as his own? How did he get it in the first place. I do not need to be harassed and afraid to answer my own telephone!!!! There is apparently a law in Kentucky where I can collect 1500.00 dollars for each unwanted call. I don't want these calls. I am not Philip Morton. Is that even a real person? Please tell GC services to stop. I simply will not answer any telephone calls at all. I get dozens of calls a month from people like Credit card Services wanting to lower my credit card rate. I don't even have a credit card. How do these people get away with this stuff day after day. These call are from a different number every day but it is the same people. Sick of them all. The telephone has now become an instrument of terror!!
Hi Sean, GC Services is an aggressive collection agency. GC Services is known to harass people at work. I can help you stop these calls immediately. In fact, I've helped dozens of people like yourself stop harassment from GC Services. I will get in touch with you today to further discuss this problem with GC Services with you. Thanks, Mike
I have been getting phone calls on my cell, 301.637.5137. I did not answer and they did not leave a message. This has happened several times. Now, they gave me a call at work. I am NOT allowed personal calls. The phone # a Mr. Todd Hill told me to call is 877.244.7901. I do not know how he found out I worked at Lowe's, but this is really becoming Harassment.
Good Morning, You have my phone number and I just received a call at my work. As you know, it is against the law to be called at work. If this is a true bill of some sort, please fax all of the information to my attention at 866-216-3482. I know who I owe and if this is a true bill, then I will call. I had received so many SCAM calls and about 5 years ago, I made an agreement and found out it was not a true bill and my identity and bank account was in debt over $2,000.00. So by this experiment, I need to see everything in paper before I make a call. Thank you.
I am getting calls repeatedly from this number: 866-749-7274. They call my home phone and my business phone. I don't answer because caller ID says "out of area", shows a number from my state that I don't recognize: (860)546-4402. When I don't answer the home phone, they don't leave a message but then immediately call my work number. They leave a message there giving a first name and saying I need to call them. They don't give any indication about what it is in reference to, and I don't think I "need to call them". Are they within their legal rights with this behavior? It seems like harassment to me :(
