Can Sue Me?
Although anyone can sue anyone for any reason, we have not seen sue consumers, and it’s likely that the agency does not sue because they don’t always own the debt they are attempting to collect, and would also need to hire a lawyer, or use in-house counsel, to file a lawsuit. It’s also likely that the agency collects debt throughout the country, and it would be quite difficult to have lawyers, or a law firm, licensed in every state. I continue to receive calls from Eagle Recovery Associates, a Bill Masters, this company continues to call both my work and cell phone, the calls pop up anonymously, messages are not left, the representative presses 0 goes to main office and then transfers caller to me. Mr. Masters alleges a debt is owed to American Web Loan, 2015 debt, I have a recorded robo voicemail that I have sent over to CFPB and launched a complaint, I don't know if its the same debt collection company as a different number was used, but I suspect its the same company. Each time Mr. Masters has called he doesn't identify himself until the call continues and then states who he is and this is an attempt to collect a debt anything ... from everything I know you are suppose to identify yourself and not block numbers, not harass etc!
