In 2005, it merged with Fidelity National Information Services. In July 2007, Certegy announced that its security was compromised by one of its own employees, affecting over 8.5 million consumer records containing sensitive personal information. That employee later pleaded guilty to fraud and conspiracy and was sentenced to nearly five years in prison. A class-action lawsuit against the company began in May 2008. If Certegy provides a credit report that has an error on it, the consequences could be very costly. Along with causing you to pay higher interest rates, you may be denied credit, insurance, a rental home, a loan, or even a job because of these mistakes. Some mistakes may include someone else’s information on your credit report, inaccurate public records, stale collection accounts, or even being a victim of identity theft. The good news is the folks at Agruss Law Firm, LLC have helped thousands of consumers. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), we can help you fix the inaccurate information on your credit report and get you money damages. Plus, the credit reporting agency will be responsible for our attorneys’ fees. You won’t owe us a dime for our services.
