In April of 2017, we represented a consumer in a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) case against Zenco Collects. Zenco Collects is a collection agency based in Richardson, Texas. Zenco emphasizes their efforts of dedication and collaboration with the consumers that they contact, however its profile on Better Business Bureau (BBB) lists over 70 complaints from consumers that have dealt with them.
The consumer that we represented began receiving calls from Zenco about an alleged debt that her grandson owed, saying that he was about to be sued due to non-payment. As any loving grandmother would react, she was terrified and sent them payment. Later, the grandson spoke to her and told her that this debt had already been paid in full years ago. Thus, she called her bank to void the payment that she made, to which Zenco responded by harassing her with non-stop calls and voicemails threatening her.
The harassment never seemed to end for this lady. Fortunately, we were able to assist this consumer with her issue and resolve her’s, as well as her grandson’s, issue with Zenco Collects. The FDCPA is meant to prohibit exactly this type of behavior.
